I was watching a HD-DVD & Blu-Ray demonstration at Best Buy and noticed the picture quality is only decent? - dvd player with hdmi great hdtv picture
In one of my many trips to Best Buy, I noticed the bank had two high-definition TV with surround sound. It plays HD-DVD and Blu-ray another.
At home I have a Sony upscaling DVD player and want to follow my favorite model ... DVD classic. I am using an HDMI cable that works on my HDTV. The picture quality is exceptional compared to my old standard connector.
So I am confused. Seen the show at the Best Buy I noticed that the image quality (although) very clearly was not much older than my DVD player to scale.
For example, photographs of landscapes from the air clear for HD-DVD or Blu-ray, because I know quite a few pixels, which shows when the film have noted reductions in a pan shot of the skyline for. The same when I get home. I checked the connection and execute the establishment of an HDMI cable.
I also took on a standard DVD just bought and put in HD DVD. The quality varies.

Rather than fixed at Best Buy was not properly configured or calibrated. Are you sure it was just a standard DVD playback of Blu-Ray?
Why wait for outstanding picture and sound quality of a Best Buy store? They are the engine of the product is not a specialist in home theater quality. Go to a little shop with the right people to help.
oh flapjack. I love that line. BestBuy. Engines are not products of the specialist quality theater. Excellent rates.
I think it depends on the cable, film, HD, TV and Settings. Everyone makes a difference. My Friends Blu Ray look good on your 1080p TV, but some films are better than others. It has a decalcification 1080P DVD player and the picture quality is still very close to high definition.
I agree with flapjack. If the picture does not look all that great was not BB. Shocker, right?
I play both standard DVD and Blue Ray in my PS3, and in almost all cases, especially when there is a new film, against the Blue Ray DVD remote. Not even close.
